Born and raised in Florida. Finally at home in the City of Brotherly Love.
After being in the hair industry for over 19 years, I've come to connect with a deeper appreciation for my craft. The majority of my professional foundation stems from training with Aveda, Bumble & Bumble, Redken, Wella and L'oreal. Mastering razor cuts and curly textures has given me a creative freedom I enjoy through developing an individualized look for each of my clients. After years of mentoring and styling in different salon environments, my path has lead me to create Mockingbird Salon.
Growing up in New York City, living in LA for a few years, and now working in Philly, I've always taken inspiration from the city I live in- its pulse and people.
I find helping my clients discover their perfect hair, taking into consideration their personality and lifestyle, to be incredibly gratifying. With over 10 years in the industry, I've been trained primarily in Aveda, L'oreal, Redken, and Wella, and I'm continually looking for ways to improve my craft.
I first started spending time in my stepmother's salon at the age of nine and remember feeling excited and at home there. I watched her and her fellow stylists work without knowing that I was falling in love with hair.
I've come a long way in ten years, from dorm room highlights and haircuts during study sessions to becoming a professional stylist. Being a hairstylist is a career I never knew I was supposed to have. My love of art and detail oriented tendencies help cultivate a continued passion and enjoyment of something between a career and a lifestyle.
After growing up in a small town in New Jersey and training in fast-paced cities such as New York and London, I have chosen to plant my roots in Philadelphia. I stem from an education consisting of Aveda, Keratin Complex, L’Oréal, R+Co, and Oribe. I adore modernizing classic cuts like the iconic shag and creating a “lived-in” look. I consider myself a craft hairstylist and continue to grow not only as a technician but as an artist. I help my clients create their own image and style through their hair.
I spend my weekends on my yoga mat, hanging with my cats, and listening to my favorite classics on my record player.
I realized I was in the wrong business while at college studying political science. My roommate and I spent far more time taking trips to Sally's for hair color than studying. I loved the way that I could use my hair to express how I'm feeling and how a simple change can take my confidence to an all time high.
That's when I knew I belonged in a salon setting making others feel this way. I graduated from the Aveda Institute a little over a year ago where I was able to gain the technical skills to constantly develop my craft.
When I'm not working, I love going to shows, eating Mexican food & binge watching Netflix.
