Born and raised in Florida. Finally at home in the City of Brotherly Love.
After being in the hair industry for over 20 years, I've come to connect with a deeper appreciation for my craft. The majority of my professional foundation stems from training with Aveda, Bumble & Bumble, Redken, Wella and L'Oréal. Mastering razor cuts and curly textures has given me a creative freedom I enjoy through developing an individualized look for each of my clients. After years of mentoring and styling in different salon environments, my path has lead me to create Mockingbird Salon.
Growing up in New York City, living in LA for a few years, and now working in Philly, I've always taken inspiration from the city I live in- its pulse and people.
I find helping my clients discover their perfect hair, taking into consideration their personality and lifestyle, to be incredibly gratifying. With over 10 years in the industry, I've been trained primarily in Aveda, L'Oréal, Redken, and Wella, and I'm continually looking for ways to improve my craft.
I grew up spending a lot of my time in my step mother’s salons, watching everyone who worked there as well as watching changing trends and techniques before I knew that I would one day be able to apply those observations to my own career. Fifteen years ago I embarked on my own hair journey and throughout those years I have worked primarily with L'Oréal, Redken, R+Co, Oligo, Paul Mitchell, and Schwarzkopf products, but enjoy acquiring education from any source I come in contact with. I have a background in art and a passion for creativity which makes bringing those aspects of my life into my work easy and enjoyable. Using these tools I aim to give each person I see a comfortable and personalized experience, creating a unique yet workable style for everyone who sits in my chair.
When I’m not working with or thinking about hair I spend time drawing, knitting, reading, streaming crime dramas or comedies, and taking an obscene amount of photos of my cat.
A recent Florida transplant, my aesthetic is beachy blondes and lived-in, effortless style. I love the creative freedom being a stylist gives me. Growing up, I knew I wanted to be an artist in some form, and here I am. I spent my high school evenings hanging out in a salon and I was always dyeing my own and my friends' hair for fun, so going into cosmetology was a natural career path and progression.
The majority of my training has been with Aveda, Bumble & Bumble, Redkin, R+Co, L'Oréal and The Business of Balayage.
When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my eight-year-old boxer mix named Frank. My gulity pleasure is pretty much any show on Bravo.
